/ / News

Walmart Inc. said Friday that it is extending the store closing time at more than 4,000 of its 4,700 stores to 10 p.m. from 8:30 p.m. starting August 17. The retail giant also offers a special shopping hour for customers ages 60 and over, one hour before the broader opening time. Vision and pharmacy services are also available during this hour. Walmart, like other essential retailers, has taken a number of measures to help customers social distance and stop the spread of coronavirus, including special hours, foot traffic control and installing barriers at checkout stations. Walmart stock has rallied 11.4% for the year to date while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has fallen 2.2% for the period.
