VMware withdraws fiscal 2021 guidance because of coronavirus

VMware Inc. shares tumbled 4% in extended trading Thursday after the software company withdrew its previously issued financial guidance for fiscal 2021. In an 8-K filing, VMware warned it is “unable to predict the extent to which the global COVID-19 pandemic may adversely impact its business operations, financial performance and results of operations.” VMware plans to provide more information during its fiscal first-quarter earnings call on May 28.
