S&P 500 trades near record territory as stocks start week on positive note

Stocks traded slightly higher at the opening bell Monday, building on last week’s gains as the S&P 500 continues to trade near its all-time closing high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 24 points, or 0.1%, at 27,954, while the S&P 500 gained 0.3% to trade near 3,383. The S&P 500 on Wednesay and Thursday briefly topped its record Feb. 19 close of 3,386.15, but failed to finish with a new record. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6% at 11,085.
