Pound climbs on reports Barnier visiting London

The British pound rose on Tuesday, following tweets from U.K. political reporters that the European Union’s top negotiator, Michel Barnier, was heading to London for “informal” talks on trade. The U.K. and European Union have until the end of the year to complete a trade pact. The pound, which as gyrated through the morning, traded as high as $1.2860 from $1.2815 on Monday.
