Pelosi calls for Capitol Police chief’s resignation, says House sergeant at arms will resign

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday said the chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, Steven Sund, should resign in the wake of Wednesday’s storming of the U.S. Capitol by a mob. “I am calling for the resignation of the chief of the Capitol Police, Mr. Sund, and I have received notice from Mr. Irving that he will be submitting his resignation,” she said, referring to the House’s sergeant at arms, Paul Irving.
