: Nvidia AI system to be offered as standard in all Hyundai models in 2022

/ / News

Nvidia Corp.’s NVDA Drive “in-vehicle infotainment” chips will become standard equipment in all Hyundai KR:005380 models beginning in 2022, the Korean auto maker said late Monday. Up until now, Hyundai has only used Nvidia’s Drive system in its Genesis models. “Recent breakthroughs in AI and accelerated computing have opened the door for next-generation cars and trucks to benefit from new functionality, capabilities and enhanced safety features that can be added after the car is purchased,” the companies said in a statement. “With a centralized, software-defined computing architecture, future vehicles can always have the latest AI cockpit features.” Nvidia shares, which closed down 6.4% at $545.23 in Monday trading, were up 0.8% after hours.
