KKR to sell Epicor Software in $4.7 billion deal, 4 years after buying the company

KKR & Co. Inc. said Monday that it will sell its Epicor Software Corp. in a deal valued at $4.7 billion to private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. KKR had agreed to buy Epicor in July 2016 from Apax Partners, with The Wall Street Journal reporting at the time for $3.3 billion, including debt. The WSJ reported over the weekend that KKR was near a deal to sell Epicor. KKR’s stock, which was still inactive in premarket trading, has gained 19.8% year to date, while the S&P 500 has advanced 8.6%.
