Industrials ETFs push higher, aim for best month in nearly two years
Exchange-traded funds with exposure to the industrial sector were higher Friday and on track for their best month in nearly two years. The Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund was up more than 0.5% at midday, and has gained 9.4% so far in August, its best monthly showing since January 2019. The Vanguard Industrials ETF rose 0.7%, and the iShares U.S. Industrials ETF was up 0.4%. The iShares fund is up roughly 1.4% in the year to date, while the other two ETFs are down a little more than 3%. As investors gain confidence in the nascent economic recovery, they are increasingly rotating to sectors that have been left behind in the massive tech rally, and which likely have more room to run in an expansion.
