Dow trades about 722 points from all-time closing high at Wednesday’s peak

/ / News

The Dow Jones Industrial Average early Wednesday was trading firmly higher, putting the blue-chip index near its Feb. 12 closing record at its peak for the session–representing a sizable recovery from the world’s most recognized stock-market index which had been leveled, with the rest of the market, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The Dow was trading 0.5% higher on Wednesday at 28,786, with an intraday peak at about 28,829, which is about 722 points, or 2.4%, from its February closing high at around 29,551.42. A close above its Feb. 12th level would help the Dow join the S&OP 500 index and the Nasdaq Composite Index in record territory from their late-March lows.
