Dow reverses gain, ends around 375 points lower as Trump calls off stimulus talks

Stocks gave up gains to end lower across the board after President Donald Trump on Tuesday afternoon tweeted that he had ordered his team to halt talks with congressional Democrats over a fiscal stimulus package until after the election. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell around 376 points, or 1.3%, to end near 27,773, according to preliminary figures, reversing an earlier gain of more than 200 points. The S&P 500 fell around 48 points, or 1.4%, to finish near 3,361, after trading at a session high of 3,431.56 ahead of the tweet. The Nasdaq Composite ended around 178 points lower, down 1.6%, near 11,155.
