Amazon launches Luxury Stores, an invitation-only shopping experience for high-end fashion and beauty

/ / News

Amazon.com Inc. said Tuesday that it is launching Luxury Stores, a shopping experience focused on high-end fashion and beauty brands. Available in the Amazon app by invitation-only to U.S. Prime members, Luxury Stores will roll out with Oscar De La Renta, featuring the pre-fall and fall/winter collections. Other brands will join in the coming weeks. “With collections sold directly from the participating brands as a ‘store within a store’ experience, brands independently make decisions regarding their inventory, selection, and pricing – and Amazon offers the merchandising tools for brands to create and personalize content in each of their unique brand voices,” the e-commerce giant said in a statement. In addition to clothing and accessories, the launch will include video content starring model and actress Cara Delevingne. The platform will also offer technology like “View 360,” an interactive feature available on select garments that will allow shoppers to look at items in greater detail. Amazon stock has soared 68% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index has gained 4.7% for the period.
