Amazon buys 11 Boeing 767-300 aircraft from Delta and WestJet to expand cargo fleet

Amazon.com Inc. said Tuesday it is buying 11 Boeing 767-300 aircraft from Delta and WestJet, as it moves to expand its cargo fleet in 2021 and 2022. “Having a mix of both leased and owned aircraft in our growing fleet allows us to better manage our operations, which in turn helps us to keep pace in meeting our customer promises,’ said Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Amazon Global Air. Amazon shares were slightly lower premarket, but have gained 70% in the last 12 months, while the S&P 500 has gained 14%.
